| W. Edward Dalton, M.D. specializes in cosmetic plastic
surgery and cancer reconstructive surgery at his private
practice in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Dr. Dalton is certified
by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American
Board of Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College
of Surgeons.
Dr. Dalton received his medical degree from the Medical
College of Virginia where he graduated with honors and
was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical
honor society representing the top ten percent of the
class. After completing his General Surgery residency
at the Medical College of Virginia, Dr. Dalton undertook
his Plastic Surgery training at Johns Hopkins University
Hospital in Baltimore. He had post doctoral fellowships
in transplant surgery in England at the University of
London Westminster Hospital and at the University of
Cambridge in England.
Dr. Dalton served as Lieutenant Commander in the U.
S. Navy prior to establishing his private practice.
As a combat surgeon he was assigned to the first Marine
Division in Southeast Asia. Dr. Dalton came to Oklahoma
City from Johns Hopkins to serve as Chief of Plastic
Surgery for the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences.
Subsequently he entered private practice although he
retains an academic position as Clinical Professor of
Surgery. Dr. Dalton maintains an active role in the
plastic surgery community. He has in the past served
as president of the Oklahoma Surgical Association and
as president of the Oklahoma City Surgical Society.
In addition he has been Chairman of the Plastic Surgery
Department at both the Baptist Medical Center and the
Mercy Medical Center. His recent papers include presentations
on cosmetic breast surgery and on abdominoplasty at
the International Society of Clinical Plastic Surgeons
meeting in Costa Rica. In addition he presented a paper
on cosmetic surgery of the abdomen at the Oklahoma meeting
of the American College of Surgeons. |
